As the demand for accurate and timely clinical documentation increases, health information management (HIM) professionals are using their skills and expertise to improve documentation. This course directed toward clinical documentation specialists or related roles in healthcare settings. The course structure appropriately covers all essential of documentation improvement in medical coding along with live examples, CDI alert and clinical tips. Since this is a useful program for coding professionals; however, the courses focus on documentation assessment and improvement as they support code assignment (the program does not contain any training on how to code for reporting or indexing). The course offers to be a re-fresher course for existing employees who already know about the industry and ICD-10-CM but are interested in training or updating onto the clinical documentation improvement.

This programme provides information on the terminology utilized in ICD-10-CM that impacts clinical documentation. This identify areas in ICD-10-CM that include new terminology, define areas in ICD-10-CM that enable improved data capture and discuss methods to employ to educate physicians of new documentation opportunities.

The intention of this course is to introduce health information management (HIM) professionals to the exciting new world of Clinical Documentation Specialists. Within this course, professionals will learn about important skills and areas of knowledge that will assist them in becoming successful Clinical Documentation Specialists. Programme Methodology

In the Regular, part time and interactive modes classes are conducted throughout the duration of the course apart from Learning Management System (LMS) support and comprehensive and dynamic study material for all the modules. For Delhi NCR and Hyderabad students face to face classroom sessions will be conducted on weekends and for other location students interactive classroom sessions will be conducted.

Eligibility

Candidates with Graduate/Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in Pharmacy, Healthcare, Medicine, Dentistry, Biology, Zoology, Chemistry, Microbiology or even Biochemistry are eligible to apply for this course.

Programme Duration

The course will be completed over a period of three Months which will include the tenure applicable for examinations as well as case studies completion.

Registration

The registration dates for this programme run by the institute are updated timely on the webpage. Effective E-learning tools incorporated into the design of the webpage make the course lectures, videos and study material easily accessible. This gives huge window of self-regulated and self-paced performance to the participants.

Programme Fees

A one-time fees (lump sum paid at beginning of the course) of Rs 25,000/- (for Regular mode) and Rs. 20,000/- (for Part Time and interactive modes) (700 USD for overseas students) is mandatory. This covers for the course registration fees, tution fees, course material fees etc. Apart from this, an examination fee of Rs 300/- (USD 20) per module needs to be paid later as per the examination notification of the Institute. 10% of fee concession is applicable to applicants belonging to SC/ST, Physically Handicapped (PH), Ex-servicemen or those who belong to Economically Weaker Section (EWS)/ Below Poverty Line (BPL).

Examination & Certification

All the participants are obliged to timely submit completed assessment assignments (during the course, usually after every module) and appear for an online exam at the end of the course. After successful completion, the participants will be awarded certificate in Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI)  by Academy of Medical Coders India, IGMPI .

For all the above mentioned modules elaborate course material, self-assessment assignments and project work details would be provided by the Institute from time to time. Details get updated on the webpage as well.
